Seeing a Christian rock hard to Christian rock lyrics is just another way to worship God.
During church, it's appropriate for gospel hymns to be sung by collectively by church goers. Song and worship has long been intertwined with one another. Therefore, are the current generations who listen to Christian rock music, merely worshipping God in a way unique to their predecessors?
Although rock music has previously (and currently) been related to sex, drugs and other immoral actions, Christian rock bands use Christian rock music to express their faith and devotion. Rock music has had a history of which fundamentalist Christians shunned its sexual undertones (and sometimes overtones). During the 1950's many Christians protested against Elvis, whose lyrics and sexual behavior onstage offended the most morally upstanding individuals of the time.
Today, rock music has a subgenre of Christian rock music. The only difference between Christian rock music and traditional Christian hymns is the background music. Often times, Christian rock music lyrics are similar to Christian hymns in that there are strong messages directed to God, the community, and/or the individual worshipping God.
